In
order to process your application we need
you to send us all the documents listed below either by
making photocopies and sending them to the College by post
or scanning the documents and sending them in a pdf format
as an email attachment.
Address your covering letter or email to the Admissions
Department, Alfred the Great College, 20-25 Glasshouse Yard,
Barbican, London EC1A 4JT. Our email address is
admissions@agcuk.com
Should you be admitted to the College, you must bring the
originals of all these documents with you on the first day
of admission. Failure to do so means that you will not be
able to undergo the admission process and may therefore
miss classes.
The documents we require are as follows:
• A fully-completed Application
For Admission for International Students form;
• Current and attested (with professional
stamp) proof of academic and non-academic qualifications;
• A copy of your current passport
(with expiration no less than six months), attested with
stamp from a notary public;
• Four passport-size photographs.
Important: It is a UKBA requirement that the background
be either grey or white to show definition between the applicant’s
face and the background;
• Two reference letters, one academic
(attested with stamp) and one personal and signed. If you
are sending us your documents by email, the referees should
email their references directly to references@agcuk.com
• If relevant, a letter regarding
any work experience you may have had or are currently undergoing;
• An original Banker’s Draft;
• A bank statement. All applicants
to sign a declaration that the funds they present to meet
the maintenance requirement are genuinely available for
use in coming to the UK to study. This will make refusals
easier on grounds of deception.
You must show that you have enough money to pay your fees
and monthly living costs for at least the first year of
studies (or the length of your course if it is fewer than
nine months in duration). You must show that you have held
the money in your personal bank account or your parent(s)’
/ legal guardian(s)’ bank account for a consecutive
28 day period (this period coinciding with the date of the
closing balance) and ending no more than one month before
your application was made. We will use the closing balance
of the document you provide as representing the level of
funds available to you. The abovementioned date is also
the date we will use to establish the rate of exchange for
the transfer of funds from your currency to pounds sterling;
• If you have a sponsor, a statement
from your sponsor verifying the availability of the funds
for your studies while in the United Kingdom. The sponsor
also needs to provide a photo ID and proof of his/her address;
• If relevant, a letter regarding
any work experience you may have had;
• A statement from you, the student,
to say why you wish to attend Alfred the Great College.
• English Language requirement:
All applicants from a non-majority Enlish Language speaking
country must prove their English Language skills in all
four components (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
with a test certificate within its validity period from
an approved English Language test centre. Please refer to
